“When a Ukrainian art song is performed on stage, people start to respect Ukrainians as a cultural nation,” Hunka says, adding that recently an English musicologist and a Ph.D. student from South Korea chose Ukrainian art songs as a subject for their theses. “There is growing interest in this kind of Ukrainian artistry in the world.”

Did you know that now you can access Ukraine Millennium Foundation (UMF) Ukrainian Art Song Library online?

This World Library will give anyone with access to the internet the ability to download the scores of Ukrainian art songs for free.

Ukrainian Art Song Project is extremely proud to co-present with the Kyiv and Liviv Philharmonics, inaugural concerts of Ukrainian art songs in Kyiv on Sunday, June 5 and in Lviv on Thursday, June 9.

In the words of artistic director, Pavlo Hunka,  "This is a momentous opportunity to bring Ukrainian Art Song back to Ukraine.  Ukrainian art song is one of the backbones of our classical culture, and now, we have an opportunity to present it to our own people!"

Last Friday, a bunch of attorneys got together to perform some beautiful music as part of a fundraiser for a student organization sponsored by a local law school.

Ukrainian Art Song will debut officially in Ukraine this summer with 2 concerts in Kyiv on June 5 with National Philharmonic and Lviv on June 9th at Lviv Philharmonic.
